Don't get too excited about that bank robbery yet, Sheriff...
Carter came this close to getting to investigate a normal, old-fashioned crime in this week's episode, like in his US Marshal days-- before he's reminded that nothing in Eureka is either normal or old-fashioned. We also had Jo and Zane taking their relationship to a new and perhaps surprising level, learned Something Important about Allison, and witnessed the gauntlet thrown down in the Parrish-Fargo-Holly triangle. What did you think about episode 414? Let us and other fans know in the comments!

Were you guys maybe, quite possibly watching the intro credits when you came up with the idea for this episode??? Because I could have sworn it all looked just a Tad familiar!!!

Loved the "Mr. Data" remark by Jo and Wil's "unauthorized signature" rant. Wonderful episode.

Seriously never thought Eureka could keep getting better and better beyondawesome. Loving this season! Writers & actors& actresses r incredible. I've loved Eureka from day 1 but I think this might be my fave season. Just don't want anything to happen to Allison now that her and jack r together. Really enjoying felicia and will! Amazed

I loved the Jo, the Drill Sergeant scenes!
And, the Jo/Zane scene at the end gives me hope that you really are trying to fix the mistakes made with that relationship in the old timeline. Zane respecting Jo's intelligence and telling her so. Check. Zane admiring Jo's abilities and telling her. Check. Insta-romance traded in for a potentially deeper love that grows out of friendship. Check.
I'm still going to dvr next week's show instead of watching live since Zoe was in the previews, though. The FF button is my friend. This is the first time Eureka has driven me to that old trick.
But, for tonight, this Jo, Zane and Jo/Zane fan is a happy camper. Thanks, writers, for a great show!

@Smile_to_me I asked the same question on Twitter!!!
I LOVED the Jo/Zane interactions in this! Erica and Niall are really hitting it out of the park this season! That one moment (well, there were like three separate moments, actually) in "Glimpse" actually had me tearing up. "Up in the Air" was heartwarming, and I love how Jo acknowledged the friendship that was there as well as the chemistry.
Also, I don't think words can even express my intense happiness over the Parrish/Marten/Fargo love triangle. Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day were some of my favorite actors long before I even knew Eureka existed. When I found out Wil was going to guest in Season 4, I immediately began following (and LOVING!) it, starting from the beginning!!!
Finally, I love me some Sheriff Carter WHUMP, and I haven't been disappointed so far! :P

I love Felicia Day! She is perfect and a wonderful new character to love. Colin Ferg's facial expressions and humor just lifts my heart. There are so few shows that actually make me feel like I know these people and they are my friends. Every actor on this show has the gift. The gift of making these characters they play, very real people to us (the viewer). Thank you writers there are no words to describe the joy you bring to my house every Monday! P.S Everytime I see Mr. Wheaton I giggle like that 15yr old school girl watching Star Trek NG.Oh the memories ;o)

Love, love, love this show. Each episode gets better and better. The build up that keeps me hooked. I love all the characters on the show. Carter and Allison are my favorites of course and I love how their relationship has evolved. Colin and Salli make the show for me and I love their chemistry. I laughed my butt off at tonights episode. Carter and the bank scenes were hilarious. The preview next week looks awesome. At least they are aware something is up with Allison. Wait until they find out it is Beverly. That bitch is going down! Lets see more of Holly, Kevin and Deputy Andy. I count the days until the next episode and can't wait for the weekend to be over. How sad is that?

It was nice to see Colin as more of a feature, he is funny! He has excellent comedic timing, and I laugh all the time at his antics!
I am not sure I like the nanites (sp?) in Alison's brain....I keep wondering, is this timeline going to stay? If it switches back, will she still have nanites?
I LOVE WIL Wheaton too! He is such a good bad guy!
I hope Jack continues to be the star and more prominent as we go through the rest of this season.
Good luck Joe and Zane! I'm rootin got ya!

Colin Ferguson is a gem. His physical comedic talents are amazing. I especially liked his impression of a man under intense and sudden gravity.
I'd been wondering what was up with those implants and seeing Beverly actually controlling Allison like a Surrogate (Bruce Willis movie) was chilling. Beverly acting as Allison and still sleeping with Jack is just plain weird and I don't want to think about that anymore.
The Jo/Zane storyline is just awesome. The few little moments they had in this episode moved their relationship into a realm far more mature than the alternate storyline. I liked how they had Zane tell Jo how smart she is, but I think the more telling interaction was when he told her how he's gonna show the selection committee what they're missing when he's clearly the best candidate? I'm willing to bet Jo understands that chip on the shoulder thing perfectly. Not only did she grow up with four older brothers (who probably told her she couldn't do a lot of things with them when she was younger), but her military/special forces career was probably filled with people who never wanted her there as a woman. Zane "gets" her now in a deeper way than the other Zane could never appreciate.
Nice job, writers!! Loving this season!!!!

Episode 414 was one of my favorite episodes of Eureka. It was packed full of the little quirks, great humor, Carter flipping out, and suspense that make Eureka one of the best shows on television. I absolutely loved it!

Such a great episode! I think it's another favorite of mine. Colin Ferguson is just brilliant. Sally Richardson was amazing and her scenes were so chilling.
The Jo/Zane storyline is my favorite I think. Loved that they were chatting about boxing. Loved that they bonded over proving themselves. And that end scene with them? Perfect. He read her interest, he's helping her, he recognizes how smart she is and respects her. It means something to Jo. I love where this is going. Erica Cerra was awesome as the drill sergeant.
And then the setting up the Holly/Fargo/Parrish storyline. Great scenes with Henry/Grace too.
Just awesome. Every week I'm shocked at how many great scenes you manage to squeeze in one hour. No other show compares. I just love all these characters. I look forward to Monday every week and count down the days to the next episode. Thank you writers!

Really great episode. I can only pray I'll get to use "Up a tree, kitten style." in real life one day. And I loved it when the episode mirrored the theme song.

This show is truly out of this world! From episode one, they have proven that!! This season is not one to disappoint! The plots are very funny and well played by the brilliant cast! Felecia Day adds a wonderful new flavor to the group and an interesting dynamic between Fargo and Parrish that lends itself nicely to good humor! SyFy has outdone itself between Eureka and Warehouse 13, my other top favorite for Monday night! Alphas is getting good also! Keep up the fine work! Ready for next week's show already!!

I'm loving pretty much ALL the character plots and developments this year. Jack and Allison, of course, are by far my favorite, and I agree that having Carter back as the lead investigator and therefore having more screen time makes the hour go by just a little bit faster. Not that I don't love everybody else, I just LOVE more Carter than not. And I could not stop laughing from the point that he started screaming until his feet were back on the ground. It was perfect.
What's more, I think someone else said it perfectly about the whole Allison/Carter/Barlow scenario. See, I'm thinking, and especially since Allison made the neural implant discovery, that Barlow is going to be full time puppet master now . . . add to the fact that the final scene between Allison and Carter was fairly suggestive . . . yeah, I don't want to think about it anymore. It's creepy. Repeat Beverly Barlow is no longer just someone with a different prerogative, she's creepy! Now, I think I might have to watch Purple Haze and A Night at Global just so I can see Allison knock her around a bit.
That said, Eureka has a history of Forgive and Forget, mostly, with the baddies/problem makers of the town. [ATTENTION] You guys best be planning (or, have already written) to take Barlow down, and I'm not talking small potatoes, like oopsy she made a clean escaped using a teleportation chair. No, only something really, truly, epic will suffice. I'm certain you, the writer, have me covered on that, right?
Debrah Farention, however, is really nailing it with the creepy factor, acting wise. I loved her smile and laugh there at the end of Reprise. Seriously evil mastermind creepy.
Really great, all around. Keep it up, please and thank you.
P.s. Is something going on with ANDY?? He was a little giddy this episode. I'm fairly certain he was bouncing up and down on a stool at one point. Perhaps he's trying to rediscover the childhood he never had??

I'm just going to leave this here because I saw it and it made me laugh. I think it will do the same for some, if not all of you. http://graphic-chic.tumblr.com/post/8366561538/i-may-have-to-cut-a-bitch

My wife and I have been watching Eureka from the beginning, and one thing I've always appreciated is the accuracy in scientific discussion. (I have degrees in Physics, so I watch for that sort of thing.) Last night, when Felicia Day's character referred to a base on a Titan as an outpost to explore another "galaxy," I was at first taken aback, as I didn't think the writers on the show would have made that kind of mistake. Then we realized that it wasn't a mistake after all; presumably, Day's character means that it will be easier to activate the FTL drive from the remote moon of Titan, and if you have an FTL drive, you can in fact reach another galaxy.
Anyway, the only reason I mention this is to compliment the writing staff on how careful you are with the science. For many reasons, including that one, Eureka is one of the few shows we try to watch as it is being broadcast.

So after watching this episode I have to wonder how much we've seen of the real Allison since she got the implants... Is it her when she's complaining about the headaches or is that Beverly. It's certainly creepy that Carter is sleeping with who he thinks is Allison when she's being possessed by Beverly, but does anyone else remember how she was checking out Carter when he first came to town.
I don't know how I feel about the Fargo/Holly/Parish triangle, but then I hate love triangles so there you go... Still it's nice seeing the 3 characters get more screen time.
Also thank you writers for making the whole Jo/Zane thing more tolerable. I hated them in the old timeline and that hate has bled over into this one, but maybe they will become a less frustrating relationship for observors(you know the kind where you know your friend's boyfriend is a total tool and you can't say anything about it because she loooooves him).

This was the best episode yet this season. I loved the return of the comedy, especially Colin's physical comedy. He always pulls it off so well. I was (happily) reminded of Season 2's "Duck, Duck Goose" when Jack was flattened by a different gravity field. The Astraeus subplot is looking pretty good. The Beverley/Allison subplot is looking a tad creepy. Who is Jack getting in bed with-Allison or Beverley? Beverley did seem rather "ahem" interested in Jack forst season.
Anyone kudos to all involved! Looking forward to the next ep already!

SO, so, so LOVE Eureka! I can't tell you how I look forward to Monday nights AND record every episode. You guys are amazing! Keep up the good work, you are very much appreciated.

i love the current dynamics on the new episodes... new and old.... and the lines... up a tree, kitten style.... mr data... great stuff.
as much as i cant decide which season is my favorite... i have to say im really digging 4.5
and i love all the science talk... i love that its teaching and opening up that childhood imagination of wishing we could do things like time travel...go into space....have cool gadgets!
ps: i hope fargo gets the girl <3

Much better than the other recent episode! I always loved Colin's physical acting- he does it so well! And the poor Jeep!
It was nice to see Jo back in her former tough chick mode, and a bit less on the romance end. Get her in some SWAT gear!
Worrying about Henry, Joe's character, with his new heart problem. Tell me you're not going to kill off his character!!! NO!!!
Felicia Day's character is still grating on my nerves, too hyper, reminds me of a child I used to work with who had a personality challenge, shall we say.
Debrah Farentino/Beverly, ah nice to see a "bad guy"! How much damage will she do? She already slept with Jack early on. Maybe he'll recognize her if he does again :)
BUT tell that woman to eat something! Loved her in Earth 2...
And Wil Wheaton, enough of the rude, sarcastic guy stuff. In real life he'd be fired long ago. Do something more with him, we know he can act!
And Fargo, funny in the tree!

Seriously, how do you guys keep getting better with each episode?? This season has been such a fun ride so far. I can not wait to see where things head (although I'll be sad to get to the season finale, knowing it'll be a whole 'nother year before we see things pick up again!).
Posted by: Jennifer | 08/02/2011 at 10:04 AM
Like anna, I was also struck by the last scene with Henry and Grace, Henry had an expression on his face full of ambivalence (props to Joe Morton’s acting). So I’m thinking that the heart problem might be worse than he is leading on – or (and this gets conspiracy theory) Allison/Beverly is purposefully trying to prevent him from going on the Astreus mission, after all Henry and Beverly are nemeses (nemisises?).
Posted by: emmarie | 08/02/2011 at 10:11 AM
Oh wow, just started re-watching the episode and related to the Henry's heart problem, Allison does foreshadow problems with Henry (although it's all done in a lighthearted manner) when she and Grace are in the infirmary. Grace commenting that Henry is loving the training and Allison replies, "let's see how much he's loving it when he comes in for his physical today" Interesting...
Posted by: emmarie | 08/02/2011 at 10:31 AM
Colin Ferguson's little scream/squeal when he was trying to get into the bank and then sees how high up he is? Actually lol'd. I mean, for real. There was sound.
