Even being strangled by his tie, Carter sure looks nice in a suit, doesn't he?
Allison's back in action, Astraeus selection brings things up close and personal, and GD deals with an only-in-Eureka bug problem. What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments!

In general my wife and I liked the episode. I felt interactions between the five of them in the testing chamber was well done and clearly showed the characters at their core (just as that test should have).
But the "mites" storyline seemed to have too many elements you have used before. 1)dangerous tiny machines (check) 2)mysterious something 'eating' GD (check) 3)need I continue?
We just felt that the main crisis story was a bit derivative and really could have been better executed.
We are excited for the remaining episodes and are very sad to see the show go.

This was an interesting episode because I think there were two main stories that could have been the "A" story (the isolation chamber and Allison trying to get back to the directors position). I think the isolation story was probably better for the main story, but the Allison story could have had some interesting twists as well. The "C" story with Henry's heart had the nice payoff at Cafe Diem at the end, Colin Ferguson was hilarious with the "They're renewing their vows!" save of Henry.
There have been some great scenes this season, and the isolation chamber scenes rank up there with the excellent writing and acting. I loved how once the pressure was on each character kind of showed their true form, and can't wait to see the what happens next week based on what everyone learned this week.
If there's one thing I have to say about the mites was just that they reminded me of the Replicators from Stargate Atlantis. I think this is the kind of episode where the big crisis isn't as important as all the events around it, so I wasn't as focused on what was going on with that story element.
Keep up the great work! Look forward to another great episode next week.

Well done! Really enjoying the amount of screen time being given to all characters this season, and it seemed all hands were on deck for this episode. The chemistry among the cast members is a delight to watch. Also, not sure why Zane's shirt went missing for a time in the isolation chamber but...thank you. Really, thank you. :-)

I really enjoyed the show. It was one of those where it seemed like everyone got their fair share of screen time and the chemistry between the actors really showed.
Best parts: loved the reinforcement of how smart Jo is (could there possibly have been more science training in her background that she is unaware of with the time travel??); loved Jack getting his tie stuck in the door (freaking brillant and ironic that he'd get caught that way); loved seeing Andy return and have to get rebuilt (yet again); Zane without his shirt; Holly's seemingly insurmountable enthusiasm for the psychological tests; Larry and his eating in every single scene he's in; Grace proposing to Henry and Jack's subsequent "they're renewing their vows"; finding out that Jo went to bat to get Zane a pardon and then Zane telling her that he'd willingly stay in Eureka; Zane singing Car Wash; Fargo taking charge; and Allison saving the day and showing us a reminder of what she was like when she was head of GD.
Overall, it was just a well-done episode. I agree with the review above that said that there was so much going on that the construction mites were really just an afterthought. This is definitely a character-driven show, and no episode showed it more than this one.

I really enjoyed the character interaction on this one, also having Parrish call Jo "Number One" was awesome. I liked the teamwork jailbreak, and Allison's comeback. Loved the origami cranes. They completed a lot of them, do they get their wish for no cancellation?:)

I thought it was great except the stuck tie, why didn't have a pocket knife to cut the tie.

It was a fun ep with smart dialogue (and in-jokes, I LOVE in jokes). Also had some great insights into the characters.

It was a fun episode, Eureka does not disappoint. Except for still having Felicia Day there. I'm sorry Felicia fans but she is really annoying me, I hope she won't be in the final season.

Good show! And the best part was seeing Henry get ready to "get married", with no response. Had to mention too-
on Warehouse 13 tonite they mentioned "Carter's Curse" in the game, gee who's that??? :)
I'm annoyed by Felicia Day's character! I understand the producers, and whoever got her a contract, LOVE her. Her attempts to be cute, while having mannerisms that make you want to medicate her, drive me up the wall!!!! Ok, I said it, don't sue me, just give her a chill pill and tranquilize her. A little valium might make her bearable. Like trying to squeeze into a tight spot, not cute, just annoying. Maybe tone that way DOWN?
I figured Allsion would save the day, and the way poor Jack got his tie stuck, owy, funny! And poor Andy! Hope he's back next week...

Ditto what Jules said. There were great moments throughout the entire episode with the whole cast. It was so well balanced between each of them. They're all so amazing in their roles and I feel like there's been so much character growth with each of them this season.
I just can't believe it will be over next year. One of my kids said tonight after asking to watch it again that the reason he loves this show is because other shows aren't made so that kids can watch it. That we can all watch and like Eureka together. Nothing else fits that bill like Eureka. We all started watching in a hospital last summer while our same son was going through a life-threatening medical issue. It will always hold a special place in our hearts because of that. It was a way to take our mind off of what was happening and get lost in a special town with special residents. I thank the writers, cast and crew eternally for that.

ditto to KJG I actually haven't watched tonights episode but i faithfully buy each episode as soon as its available on amazon instant video via roku system; i said ditto to KJG reference to liking the little town of eureka and its residents; i too found the show very uplifting while i was struggling through some issues in my life! maybe this could be a shout out to eureka producers and writers. it seems to me that other networks and even independant production to sell through systems like roku and amazon instant videos might be a way to keep a stellar production like eureka coming to all its fans. it truly is a one of a kind worthwhile production that should be kept on the air! as evidence of how wonderful i think the show is: although i get netflix and seasons 1-3 are available through instant streaming via roku system to my tv, i still bought those seasons through amazon instant videos via this same roku system-i will be watching this latest episode of eureka tomorrow as soon as i purchase it-and i'm sure i' going to love it!

Loved seeing all the Stargate folk on the show last night! Especially the actress who played Novak on SGA.
So sorry to see the show end, it's the one series I do watch live on TV.

Really enjoyed this episode. It was nice to have something lighter after the intensity of the last few weeks. You're good a finding the right balance.
I was wishing that one of our super-smart scientists would find a way to use the properties of the mites to harmlessly devour the metal that's still stuck in Allison's brain!!! I know, I know ... it doesn't affect her now, but who wants metal still stuck in their brain?? :-)
Really, though ... loved the ep! Still shaking my head over the cancellation. I'm watching live, but does it help if you're not a Neilsen family?

Liked the episode. The isolation chamber storyline with Jo, Fargo, Holly, Parrish and Zane was the best of the episode. The concept of something "eating" through GD has been done before ("All That Glitters...") but it was kept new with using bugs as the culprit. And Carter did a nice save for Henry at the end with "They're renewing their vows!" It's good that Henry has finally lived up to "other Henry's" standards and marry/remarry Grace.

Loved the episode, especially all the Zane stuff. He has become one of my favorites. The no shirt thing was very very very nice. ;)
I love how Dr. Parrish thought everything was part of the test and then his girly scream. Priceless! Holly is delightfully spazzy and I just adore Felicia Day.
Carter's save in the end with Henry was great! And I'm glad Allison is back in charge for the moment. :)

*sighs , I'm sad because I won't be able to watch anymore until episodes are put online. Hate that. On a happy note, this episode was great. Loved everything. Keep it up.

I loved the isolation chamber, especially Larry torturing them; love Larry! Fargo was pretty quiet in there, more so than usual, he wasn't his usual Fargo-self at first but he saved the day nicely. Fargo and Holly are adorable! I too love Carter in a suit; tho my fave suit was the one he wore to the almost-date with Allison. I felt for Allison coming back and having people doubt her after getting her head scrambled by Evil Beverly. I'm hoping Allison and Bev will have another beatdown, this time a mega-WWF style throw down; Bev has it coming.
I can't get enough of Sherrif Andy! He's terrific with babies, he remains charming even when bugs are eating him alive; Andy rules!
I love all the Zane/Jo scenes - what a fun feisty couple. No complaints on my end, Eureka is the only show that has me smiling from beginning to end.

This episode was kind of creepy because it has all that creepy stuff you sometimes think about- liking getting stuck when you're trying to squeeze through a tight spot, getting your tie stuck somewhere, stepping into an elevator shaft with no elevator. Maybe it was just me, but I definitely noticed the creepiness of all of that!
I'm loving Sheriff Andy a lot this season!
I loved all the character moments at Cafe Diem, especially "aren't you already married". I miss having Vincent in the show more!

If they gave out prizes for well written couples in various stages of togetherness, you guys would win hands down. Please don't make me eat these words in future episodes, but the way you find internal conflicts, rather than real threat third parties for Jo/Zane, Allison/Jack and Grace/Henry is so refreshing. I really wish the writers/producers on other shows would realize that its possible to write complicated, interesting couples the way you do.
As for this episode, a whole hour of Jo/Zane/Fargo/Holly/Parrish would have been fine by me. Those five together were a real treat! And, Gratuitous!Shirtless!Zane! is welcome anytime!
Kudos to you for again "fixing" what was done wrong with Jo and Zane in the original timeline. I nod my head after every episode now at how much better they're being written this go around. Letting Zane make the conscious choice to be in Eureka was something I'd never thought about, but now that you've done it I can't wait to see how that will change things for him both as an individual character and with Jo.
My only request for the all too soon finale episode of Season 5 is that you keep Jo and Zane together and happy.

Loved Allison in this episode! To see her go from running GD to being seen as unfit for duty was interesting. I just loved it.
I also loved Parrish. The character just cracks me up!

Loved this episode! I was not excited when I saw the preview, thought the mite issue had been done before, etc. But the isolation chamber interactions were fantastic! The writing was pure genius -- moments of real emotion mixed in with great comic lines. Especially enjoyed the Star Trek ("Number One") and Star Wars ("Let's blast these things and go home!") references.
I have to join the chorus cheering for Jo and Zane. I was not too excited with their initial relationship, but the timeline change has allowed it too be so much deeper than initial physical attraction/opposites attracting then working through commitment issues. Love that they also have a history (on one side at least), a growing friendship, and an appreciation for each other's strengths and weaknesses this time around.
So sad that this will all end! I'm just grateful that the entire team behind Eureka is getting the chance for proper closure. I will be watching on the edge of my seat.

Didn't get a chance to write last week. Loved Larry's powertrip moments! Long overdue! Also loved the Iso chamber moments and Fargo's increasing leadership skills. Bittersweet moment at the end, this week's ep proved there was some foreshadowing going on there!
