Wow! Well done, writers! This was awesome. Fargo in the holding cell blasting Eye of the Tiger and staring down Felicia Day was hilarious. In fact, all of the music references were brilliant. Great Episode.

I knew it was going to be an excellent eppy the minute the music started. I'm truly amazed with the writers.
I can't wait to see what Bev has in store for Allison.

I own all the Eureka DVDs, plus an embarrassing number of multiple copies of specific episodes on various computers and form factors -- you know, some iTunes, some Amazon, some Mac, some PC, some all of the above. I hate to admit it, but I think I have five copies of Momstrosity, which was my favorite episode.
And the reason I mention that is just so you have some perspective on what it means when I tell you that I have a new favorite episode -- WOW, WOW, WOW! That was amazing. I fell in love with Felicia Day's character almost immediately -- before she even got out of Cafe Diem. It was such a great episode that I'm not even sure where to start with bits that I loved. I think the best part was how much love was given to every character -- Andy was delightful, Kevin was terrific, Vincent was just crazy fun. Yeah. I'm raving. I know. But you did good. Really, really good. I'd say that I can't wait until next week, but really, I'll be perfectly happy tomorrow when you post it on Syfy and I can watch it over and over again. It'll be a tough act to beat!

I guess I wasn't as thrilled with this episode as everyone else was. I'm not trying to be mean, I just want to... comment on what I thought.
And I thought it was really messily written. The set up felt inorganic and hectic, and it was really confusing because it felt like the episodes "mystery" started very closely to the beginning, and left no time to establish Eureka as it is. (I realize that we all know about Eureka, it just felt odd without any real introduction. Like I was being thrown into an episode without a chance to catch my breath.)
Also, I love music. A lot. But it felt out of place, and while I linked back to Holly's talk of subconscious hooplah in her music and figured that was the cause, the whole Eureka downloading music and sharing it, and the effects it brought, felt a little too extreme and outrageous to me.
To put it in perspective: I was okay with them going up into space, and it was the music giving them hypnotic suggestions that didn't sit well with me.
Also, I strongly disliked Allison's subplot this episode... because there wasn't one. Or at least, it didn't feel like one. It felt like it was just a time filler. I think the episode could have befitted by leaving Allison in Eureka during the music mayhem and having her discover and be injected by Beverly & co as the cliffhanger, instead of having to go back to explain it.
Still, I praise you for bringing Beverly back in episode 2 (or 12) instead of stalling for a little while (like an entire season... *looks at season 3*).
Oh, and Neil was pretty darn funny as Fargo (loved him shaking the Bobble-head "no" with Zane), and I felt so bad for Jo - she just gets all the crap this season (I'm including 4.0)!
Anyways, I'm hoping I'll enjoy this episode better on re-watch. I love Eureka so much, and I don't want to be caught up in my dislike for "Reprise."
(Oh another thing - I thought the directing was particularly good this episode. The shot that moved around Henry's home while in a stasis was gorgeous, as was the shot going into Allison's brain.)
(Oh, and the beginning felt odd to me, because it felt like y'all were setting up the episode like you were going to write Allison and Larry out for the next 40 minutes to give the actors a break, but a) Larry doesn't seem to get much to do anyways - though his bit was pretty funny, and b) Allison was in a lot of the episode. So it was weird.)
(Oh, also... Felicia Day was superb!)
Anyways, just my 2 cents... or, ya know, 20 dollars. -.-
Though, I can't wait for next week, and the rest of the season!

A+ episode. Love Zane and Fargo and Carter...and Jo...and Vincent...and Andy. The music made it even better.

Loved the allison twist. The songs were great. I suspected there was something about the music since it usually isnt prominent, but didnt put it together until "Bad Boys". I feel slow.
Glad to see Jo/Zane findng there way back to each other. I think it will be a bumpy ride for them.
Enjoyed Kevin getting a chance to shine. Felicia Day's character was quirky and fun. Looking forward to seeing her interact with everyone each week. Wishing it was next Monday already.

Love Felicia Day! She is awesome! I really like how the writers incorporated more of Alison's family into the equation. Not really a Bev fan, but every show must have it's foil.

I throughly enjoyed this episode. It made me smile to see Jack and Allison acting like a family unit. You can see how much in love they are and how much Jack loves her children. The music references were AWESOME! I haven't laughed so much at a show in a while. Jack and Kevin have great chemistry. Please, please, please don't drag out the Beverly plot. I don't think I can stand to have her character interfere with their lives much longer. Can we kill her off already? I too have Eureka episodes everywhere. On my computer, DVD's, Netflix, DVR'd. I absolutely LOVE this show. Kudos to the Actors (my fav's Colin and Salli) and the rest of the Eureka staff.

Didn't see the Allison plot twist there, although I kept waiting for the big "THING" to happen there. The whole neural implant weirded me out!
Felicia Day is totally awesome, and I can't wait to see what it's like when Fargo isn't trying to destroy her! Fargo, by the way...totally rocked. Comic genius.
I love the Jo/Zane storyline...looking forward to that developing more. I think I like it more now than when they were together before.
Oh yea, and Carter with the baby? So freaking cute!!

On the one hand, I was waiting the whole episode to figure out what the deal was with the Allison subplot, because it definitely seemed fishy. On the other hand, putting it all at the end made it feel a bit rushed. I'm still working out how I feel about it (though Beverly always makes me want to yell at the tv, which is a good thing). Aside from that, I really enjoyed the episode, and loved especially getting to see Jack and Kevin start to connect in a way they hadn't before.
And I agree with the previous poster - the directing was gorgeous.

I agree with pretty much all of what kaiofhearts said above. Good episode, but clunky.
For example, I really liked the idea behind Allison's subplot, but there were several moments of "Okay, where is this going? Why are we cutting back to here?" that never felt adequately justified for me. Since we (the audience) didn't know where it was going, we didn't have many expectations to be subverted, and the reveal at the end was more of an "aha so that's why we saw that" moment rather than a twist.
An exchange between her and Carter, or any other character, really, would've given the reveal more punch. As a viewer, it was also weird to have Allison's story take up so much screen time yet never see it talked about. Should we assume this sort of thing is so run of the mill for Allison it's not worth even mentioning? Or that Carter just never asked her about the conference (and hence kinda sucks as a boyfriend)? Because in what aired, there was no connection between what happened to her and the main story.
Anyway, still happily watching and recommending Eureka to everyone I know. I loved the time-frozen shots, and the Tardis joke? HAH! Classic :) I laughed out loud. I also hope Felicia Day becomes a recurring character. I really thought she fit in well with the rest of the cast, not to mention Eureka as a whole.
*excited to see where you take us next week*
Cheers!

"Have you ever played Warhammer? Nevermind."
I lost it there. Brilliant.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm sick and tired of the Zane/Jo. It feels so damn forced and...boring.
But I'm glad about Zane and Fargo dynamic that I hope will be built.
And on last note, Felicia Day is cool and all, but not all geeks drool over her. I consider somewhat of a one trick pony...

Loved this episode.
Solid “A” all around. Laughed out loud on several occasion. Everything was wonderful from choice of music, to Fargo and Zane going psycho; Kevin being involved in the action; the Allison twist, and finally as a fan of the Zane and Jo relationship, glad to see these two interacting more. Z&J have amazing chemistry.

Anther lovely episode! Zane with that flamethrower was so awesome!
Just a quick note to those who commented on the Allison subplot. Firstly I agree with the decision to have Allison be out of Eureka otherwise it makes our heroes look incompetent to let Beverly get away with something like that right under everyone's noses.I would also assume that it is going to be important to the overall plot that Allison doesn't figure out something it wrong right way. Secondly, while the subplot didn't really pay off at the end of the episode (as we are often use to in Eureka) I would assume it is going to be hugely important for the audience to know what Allison thinks happened at some later date. I have faith that by the end of the season we will see why it was done the way it was.
I can't wait for next week!

Nice to see more of Henry and wife! I like their chemistry!
I thought the Allison section was kind of slow, and I knew it probably wasn't "real", since it had already been hinted at that she was a new "target". As soon as she said she has a headache, it was over for me... another "lost time" thing with an implant (?)
Felcia Day was cute, but remided me of some of my students who are, shall we say "high maintenance" (trying to be PC here). Being familiar with NLP (used it)I knew it would somehow alter someone's behavior for some reason, being Eureka and all.
The music aspect was interesting, and another red flag for me about relying too much on tech. I'd love to see Eureka have a "lights out day" with no electricity or power. Kind of like "no tv day". Get people interacting in person. Lose some of the tech for a while, how refreshing that would be!!!
As much as I like Jo, I'm getting a little tired of the "lost love" thing. Move on... make Zane go out of town for a while. I must say I really miss Jo's kicking butt out on calls with all her assualt gear!!! Now she's a "suit", sigh...
I'd love to see more background characters come up and do some new stuff. Will Kevin ever get a girlfriend? He's stealing cars! Nice singing voice too!
LOVED Andy, as usual!!! Baby with Andy= cuteness factor over the top. Now THERE'S a nanny!!!
So, ice cream and cars (per Colin)- I'm expecting delivery soon :) Choc chip and a subaru, thanks... or maybe a jeep...

Please no, not Felicia Day. Her character is irritating, too.
Good job on Andy this ep!

Loved, loved, loved. Had to watch the ending Zane and Jo scene three times. Loved Allison's subplot. I liked the pace, and the reveal at the end. I knew something was up but couldn't figure it out. Figured at the end that I was wrong, and then Boom!
So happy this show is back. I thought all the character interactions were great and even though there was a lot going on, a lot got accomplished! Zane and Jo tentatively reunited (or at least going to figure things out), Allison implanted with what I assume is brain controlling device, Relationship between Kevin and Jack explained a little more and looking forward to Kevin helping Jack out again, and a positive outcome of the whole audit thing. I didn't want to see weeks of angst over will they/won't they shut down or change Eureka. Instead Eureka is getting a huge infusion of money and a brand spanking new awesome project. Will definitely watch this episode again.
Flame thrower Zane is hot.

Two episodes into Season 4.5 and I do believe you have a winning season in the works. Congrates to all, both in front of and behind the cameras. I'm looking forward to another super episode next week.

I loved the music in this episode, but I figured out that was the problem pretty early on. Neil/Fargo was amazing. Those facial expressions were awesome. I agree with everyone who loved Andy's role in this episode. Overall, great work. You guys are so clever. Thank you for making Mondays fun. See you at the Eureka panel at SDCC (and for lunch at Cafe Diem).

Easily one of the best episodes of Eureka I have seen, really enjoyed the episode. Felicia Day did an amazing job and her character fits in really well to Eureka so I am looking forward to seeing more of how she integrates into the town. Unlike some I thought that this was a very clever idea and was handled very well in true Eureka style. Was suspicious of the Alison storyline from the beginning so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Poor Jo and her house, is her losing her house going to be like Jack getting his Jeep destroyed? :P

That episode was on fire! I loved every moment of it! Really well-done, congrats!
