As we head into the home stretch for the first half of Season Four, a few questions have arisen about the episodes to come. Looking for answers? We got 'em!
Q: I saw a promo that said the next episode is the "season finale" -- did I hear that right?
A: It's the MID-season finale, not the season finale of season four. We still have 10 episodes left to air and, no, those episodes don't have airdates yet. But our money's on winter, spring, or summer. :)
Q: No episode this week?
A: Syfy is holding the mid-season finale until NEXT Friday, September 10th. Probably because of the Labor Day holiday and the fact that a lot of people are traveling.
Q: I heard rumors of a Christmas episode, is that the case?
A: Indeed! We're airing 9 episodes this summer, and our 10th episode is a Christmas special slated to air in December. The "back ten" as we call them will air sometime after the holiday.
Q: Will there be another marathon soon? I really want to catch up on the episodes I've missed!
A: Yes, there is an all-day marathon on the day of the finale, September 10th. Syfy will be airing the final few episodes of Season Three, and then every episode of Season Four to date leading into the finale.
So when do we get the old timeline back? Soon, I hope.

Any other old characters coming back? I know Matt Frewer was mentioned somewhere, anyone else????

Is there any way to "encourage" the network to air the back half sooner, rather than later? A petition, or appropriately addressed letter, a boycott perhaps?
I mean, seriously, what's the point of calling it season 4 if we have to wait another 9 months for summer airdates??? I hate this trend of "splitting seasons". At least the other networks actually air the shows in the same calendar year!

Laura, simply put - money, money money that's why the network has split it in 2. More money to be made when the DVDs are for sale.
Jeff, why change the timeline? Other than Jo's situation I preety much like it as it is! Of course once the coupling thing (with Eureka's 2 main couples) ISN'T the central focus in every episode!

Just to verify -- season 5 is distinct and separate from the back half of season 4, and will be coming after those final 10 eps of season 4 air next year?

My question is, if they are about to restore the original timeline, what's the payoff for the Zane-Jo subplot (among others)? All the effort put into alternate-Zane figuring out Jo's original relationship with him will be pointless.

Yes, Jon... the recently ordered season five is a separate thing from the back ten of season four. We don't know yet when season five will air, or how many episodes we're getting. We won't start shooting it until March or April.

No new episode last night, what the heck :(

I have a question and I hope it's not silly. I have only been recently introduced to Eureka and have watched the first 3 seasons in about 2 weeks. Love this show. However, when I went to start season 4, there was a clip of Carter talking to Dr. Fontana and they seemed to be having relationship issues. I had never seen this clip and I'm worried that I've missed an episode somewhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

ElizaBeth: Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. The scene was added to the first episode of the season as explained here: http://eurekaunscripted.typepad.com/blog/2010/07/index.html
Is it Friday yet?

If the mid-season seperates Carter and Alison again, I'm giving up on Eureka. I've already given up on 'Bones'.

can't wait for the mid-season finale this friday! woohooo!! loving this show :)

@Blane
Better start looking for another show. After seeing the preview for mid-season I get the feeling that they're gonna break up Allison and Carter AGAIN as they believe that somehow they'll keep the viewers watching to see them hook up AGAIN. Why do they keep doing this on all these shows, I'll never know or understand. It seems like a cheap attempt to NOT use their creativity and make them work together as a couple.
(disappointed smile - Hint, hint Eureka writers. PROVE me wrong PLLLLLLLEAAAAASSSEEEE this Friday!!!!!

Before y'all rake us over the coals for [insert assumed transgression], how about everyone tune in on Friday for the [insert excited hyperbole] mid-season finale!! :)

Thanks for NOT delievering us a cliffhanger on Jack & Allison (I'm sure the possibility was there)We even got a bonus of a reconciliation with Zane and Jo!
@Blane: You don't have to quit Eureka. These guys DEFINITELY know what to do to keep their viewers and HOW to keep 'em coming ;)
