We got trouble, right here in Eureka city...
...Trouble with a capital "T" and that rhymes with B and that stands for BEVERLY! Allison wasn't exactly herself this episode, and before anyone could do anything about it Beverly executed a shocking plan. Only Zoe and Jo can save the day in Salli Richardson-Whitfield's directing debut, a Eureka-fied take on those action thrilers we all love. Plus, there's a cameo from one of the cutest characters from Season 4.0! What did you think of "Omega Girls"? Discuss it in the comments!

First and foremost I am saddened that Eureka will end after Season Five. I have another show that I watch on NBC, Chuck that got the same death sentence. Warehouse 13, if it survives will then become the only show on television that I would watch, because I am cutting back on TV anyhow. I will miss Eureka when it goes, but like Chuck, I'm also glad because lengthy TV shows mean a lot of DVD's I would have to buy. Also, Eureka has technically been around for six seasons now, with the season 3 and season 4 being spilt in two, so it has had an amazing run.
Monday's episode was electrifying and awesome! This timeline's version of Beverly seems to be more evil
than the other. I would like to know if her organization retrieved any data or not. I can't look at Allison the same way anymore- I'll probably keep thinking she's Beverly! And the part where Allison proved who she was to Jo could have been Beverly, since she knew about 1947 from her father Adam. I hope not, but I had to think. It was nice to see more minor characters get the spotlight.
Eureka Forever!!

Reeling, still reeling, I know it's just a tv show but heck-innit, this show is a gem. It's charming and entertaining without sacrificing it's wit and I'm just shocked that SyFy would choose to cut it.
That being said, re: the episode, I really enjoyed it. Loved that Zoe and Jo had to team up so soon after the emotional "Zane" bomb was dropped. It was a clever way to reinforce their relationship and sisterly bond. I also loved seeing Zoe come into her own. I had hoped to see her in Eureka "the next generation" with Kevin and Jenna, but I digress.
Great work from Salli and the whole group. Also, can I say how much I loved that cute little interaction between Henry and Zane? I liked that whole "paternal"-esque vibe between them. Makes perfect sense for the characters...
I did miss some space science, tho. Want to see more of the project development.
Going to eat a tub of Ben&Jerry's ChubbyHubby now. kay - bye

I loved seeing Jo and Zoe duking it out and clearing the air; it's been great to see how their relationship has evolved into such a strong bond since the pilot; Jo is more like a big sis to Zoe. It was fun to see Alison go rogue, and great to see Bev causing trouble again.

Some major handwaving required for this episode's basic premise to work. To the point where my wrist hurts.
In Season 2.02, when GD's directorship went from Stark to Blake, an integral plot point was that there was a shutdown of GD. Such a shutdown would have made it impossible for Beverley's nefarious plan to work. I haven't seen ay explanation for the difference.
Thing is, I just can't believe it's a timeline difference. Not for such an important security point. Explanations? Explications? Anyone? Bueller?

Fun episode, but a little predictable, since the 2 girls were out of town, and they would HAVE to save the day. Fun though, and nice camera work, toggling between Allison and Bev. After reading an article about the cancellation (geekdad on Wired.com), I did agree with his thoughts- season 1 was so great because Carter was a fish out of water. No he's figuring out some of the science-ese. Which makes sense but... some of the original plot got- diluted? Not sure if that's the right word. I still LOVE the show, but I got his point...
"When the writers shifted focus to the technology being produced by GD and away from his fish-out-of-water relationship with the town (maybe dog-in-the-ocean is a better analogy), it was a disservice to the show. Sure, Carter does his Give Me the Quantum Physics For Dummies Version kind of comments during the tech exposition, but the show’s first-season premise seemed to take a backseat to nanobots and predictive contact lenses. Ferguson turns out to be a great comedic actor and someone deserving another gig. Immediately. If we must live in a world without Eureka, Oregon, at least appease fans by giving Ferguson another vehicle."
amen...

Too sad about the cancellation at the time to comment when Omega Girls aired, but I just rewatched the episode. Well done! And though it may be too late to get an answer to this question, here it goes: did my ears deceive me, or did Zane answer his cell when called to go to the infirmary with "Guilford Donovan"? Guilford???

Ming-Na is absolutely terrible, she is the same character in everything she is in, a feminist big shot constantly trying to ruin good shows.

Still can't believe they're cancelling Eureka - the only genre show on TV that consistently treats women and POC like actual people rather than accessories.
And seriously - when they get rid of Eureka, what's left that's even genre? I mean, wrestling and reality TV? Why even bother calling yourself a science fiction channel anymore?

That was an unexpected episode, I thought it would've been a few more episodes before Beverly made a move, and quite a big one at that. The failsafe? I'm still a bit stunned at that thing, crikey.
Zoe and Jo having to work together was a good thing, giving them time to sort things out a bit. I really did like Zoe and Beverly's talk, it seemed like she knew just who exactly she was talking to within seconds, like Beverly said, clever girl :).
I really can't wait for the next episode, what will the fallout be from all that happened in this episode?
Will GD begin to search out who exactly Beverly and her chums are?
Will the military be brought in/ordered to by higher ups for security?
What will be Beverly's next move?
(And Salli directed it! Woo! and Yay! :))
